    Workshop 1 - Giving Voice to Values

    Mandatory preparation work: 

    1. Watch the video material: The introductory video is divided into four parts, each accompanied by a guiding question. Watch them one by one and follow the instructions provided at the end of each part. 
    2. Complete the two questionnaires: Purpose after video Part 2; Personal-Professional Profile after video Part 3
    3. Read the Scripts & Skills Readings
    4. Write your Tale of Two Stories and bring it to the class (see instructions in the assignment)

    Workshop 3 - Listening and giving/receiving feedback

    Teacher: Matthieu de Nanteuil

    Mandatory workshop preparation: 

    Before the workshop, you must:

    1. Read Batista, 2015 's article on 'making feedback less stressful to receive' and Abrahams and Groysberg (2021) on 'becoming a better listener'. Take notes and summarize the content through a mind map. You are welcome to do it on a piece of paper, or digitally (on a dedicated website or software e.g Canvas, xMind or Mindmeister), and to use words, images, drawings or other material. 

    2. Identify one situation where you received a feedback on your work that you found useful, i.e which helped you understand how to improve. You must chose a situation where your work could be improved. 
    It can be a situation from school (e.g: getting useful feedback from a teacher after an assignment), at work (i.e getting feedback from your manager at the student job/internship), or in other activities (e.g: volunteering, hobbies...). Describe how the feedback was done: which words were used, in which setting (time, space, face-to-face, collective...) and identify at least 2 enablers for a good feedback from this experience.

    3. Identify one situation where you received a feedback on your work that you found useless or counterproductive.
    Opposite exercise: Identify a situation from school, work or other area where you received a feedback that did not contribute to your competencies development. How did this bad feedback make you feel ? Identify at least two reasons why the feedback was not good.

    Post this preparation work on Moodle before the session.

    Listen to the podcast episode on design thinking (see below).

    Post on Moodle:

    A) A one-page visualization of your thoughts while listening (for example, a mind map).

    B) Your reflections on the following two brainstorming questions:


    1. A collaboration that went well:
      Identify a situation of collaboration that went well (this could be a student group project or a work project). Describe it and identify at least two reasons or conditions that made it successful.

    2. A collaboration that went poorly:
      Identify a situation of collaboration that went badly (this could be a student group project or a work project). Describe it and identify at least two reasons or conditions that caused it to go wrong. What could you have done differently? What could the team have done differently?
