Mandatory preparation activity 2
Activity 2: A conflict you have lived
Part 1. The conflict (5 lines maximum)
Think of a real conflict you have lived: at university, in an internship, a job, a sports club or an association. Describe it briefly, without any names:
- Who was involved (roles only: “a group member”, “my manager”, “a teammate”)?
- What was it about?
- How did it go, and where does it stand today?
Part 2. The sentence you did not say
Go back to a precise moment in that conflict. Write the words you wish you had said to the other person at that moment, as you would have said them out loud, in quotation marks. It can be something you held back, or something better than what you actually said.
Example:
“I wish I had told her: ‘I don’t want to redo your part again. Can we sit down tomorrow and decide together who does what?’”
Not this: “I should have been more assertive.” That is a lesson, not a sentence to the other person.
Choose a conflict you are comfortable sharing with three other students: in class, you will replay it in a small group.
