To properly fill out and make corrections on a Gradescope Bubble Sheet, you must follow strict guidelines so the AI scanner doesn't misread your paper. (See example of a Gradescope grid in attachment)
FOR THIS EXAM, ONLY ANSWER THE FIRST 30 ITEMS (since the bubble sheet is generic and contains 100 items)
How to Fill It Out Properly ⚪ ➔ ⚫
- Use a dark pencil: A standard #2 or HB pencil is highly recommended. If you must use a pen, use dark blue or black ink, but keep in mind that mistakes will be harder to correct.
- Fill bubbles completely: Darken the entire circle completely.
- Do NOT use shorthand: Do not use checkmarks (✓), slashes, or X's inside the bubble, as the scanner may skip them entirely.
- Print your information: Write the info, especially your name and NOMA so that the system can identify you in neat capital letters. Do not write in cursive.
How to Correct Mistakes ❌ ➔ ⚪
- If using a pencil: Completely erase the mistaken answer and any stray marks. There should be no dark smudges left behind. If the scanner detects leftover graphite, it may flag it as a "double answer" and give you zero points for that question.
- If using a pen: If you cannot erase the ink, draw a clean, bold "X" directly over the incorrect bubble to tell the system to ignore it, then completely fill in your new choice. Or you can also use Tipp-Ex to correct the answer and redraw by hand the incorrect bubble
- Do NOT scribble out:Avoid messy scribbles or circling a new answer next to the row, as this will confuse the scanning software.
- OR ASK FOR A NEW GRID (We will provide empty grids if needed)
