Topic outline

  • General

The rules of the master have been modified, the new rules will be described soon on this moodle.

This is the point of presence of the Mathematical Engineering (MAP) programme commission on Moodle UCL. If you are a student in the MAP programme (major, minor, master), then you MUST REGISTER to this Moodle "course" in order to receive the announcements from the MAP programme commission. (The announcements are not always sent through the listes-student.uclouvain.be mailing lists, especially at the start of the academic year when the lists are less reliable.)

    • Your questions about the MAP programme (orientation and master) are likely to find their answer in this Moodle "course" (see in particular the "Master's FAQ" below) or in the official study programme (see "Contact and links" section below).

If not, PLEASE SEND ALL YOUR QUESTIONS regarding the MAP master study program ONLY to the following addresses: responsable-map@uclouvain.be and secretariat-pae-map-data@uclouvain.be

  • Dual Degrees

    • The MAP master has a dual degree agreement with KTH Stockholm and KU Leuven. The students obtain the two master degrees after one year at the partner institution and one year at UCL. (For KTH-UCL dual master, only the 1st Master year at KTH is possible in practice for UCL students.) Interested students need to apply by the EPL "Mercator and dual degrees" deadline in the 1st semester of their final Bachelor year.

The dual degree agreements are available below. They contain essential information on the dual study programme (mandatory courses, equivalences...).

    • Version for the students who started the master in Sep 2017 or earlier.

    • This version already applies to the students who start the master in Sep 2018 or later.

      UPDATE 2017-12-05: AK2036 became AK2040. File updated.

    • The central agreement, of which the document above is an appendix.

    • News specific to Major/Minor MAP Forum

News forum for the students in the major/minor in applied mathematics (in French). Warning: preliminary tests have indicated that this news forum may not reach the adequate groups...

  • PhD opportunities

In case you are considering doing a PhD thesis (doctorat), or are simply curious about the possibility, the INMA department (mathematical engineering) organizes an information session about the PhD each year, around week 10 of the first semester.

The goal of the information session is to explain what is a PhD, tell about the first steps, discuss funding and give an overview of current research topics in the department.

The 2024 information session took place on November 19, 12:50 - 14:00, in room Euler a002.
If you are interested in the possibility of doing a PhD, the first step is to contact one or several potential supervisors to discuss possible topics and funding options.
