This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the European Union's (EU) multi-level political system. It examines the institutional structures and the roles of both national and European actors in shaping the decision-making process at the EU level. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and a practical application (a negotiation role-play), students will develop a nuanced understanding of the complexities inherent in the EU political system.

This course segment (EU Political System) complements the parallel segment on the EU Legal System taught by Professor Teresa M. Cabrita. Each course segment offers a distinct perspective on the same object, the European Union. The lectures in these two courses, which are part of a single teaching unit, provide mutually reinforcing insights into the EU system and are designed to help students navigate the complex structure of the Brussels Bubble from a multidisciplinary perspective.
