In this course, students will undertake a journey into the field of theatre sociology, recognizing it as a distinct academic discipline. The course will explore the sociocultural context in which collective practices related to the production, dissemination and appreciation of theatre and performance take place. Through this, students will acquire fundamental analytical and methodological skills to investigate these collective practices as a social phenomenon. The course will address aspects related to theory, theatre, performance, audience, politics, public space, identity, gender, feminism and racism.
