Welcome to this year’s Seminar on Current Managerial Issues. This teaching unit is designed to help you engage critically with the economic, political and societal questions that shape the environment in which organisations operate. The seminar will develop your ability to interpret current events, read advanced press sources with discernment, and connect public debates to managerial decision-making. You will also strengthen your capacity to assess others' work and provide constructive, evidence-based feedback.
This year, we are honoured to welcome two distinguished speakers: Sophie Wilmès, former Prime Minister of Belgium and current Vice-President of the European Parliament, and Philippe Lamberts, former co-president of the Greens/European Free Alliance group in the European Parliament and adviser on the transition to a climate-neutral economy. Their contributions will offer complementary perspectives on European industrial and environmental policy. Each speaker will deliver six sessions, and you will work in groups throughout the seminar, taking on the role of political parties represented in the European Parliament. This format is intended to make the sessions active, collaborative and closely connected to real-world policy debates.
