LOCI-I.M.A. aims to give an international dimension to the Master in architecture in UCLouvain- LOCI faculty.
This master’s program in architecture is equivalent to the recently reformed master’s program in French in the LOCI faculty.
LOCI-I.M.A. invites students to follow an innovative multidisciplinary program, at the master's level in architecture, at the LOCI faculty and in partnership with institutions from different countries. Here, students work in multidisciplinary and transnational groups. The workshops address contemporary challenges on the basis of information given by teachers, experts, researchers and actors from civil society. Each year a theme representative of contemporary issues is raised and finds in LOCI an anchor point within the discipline of architecture. Courses and workshops mobilize knowledge and methodologies to explore scenarios and pathways of reflection but also tentative designs, combining analysis, research, online contacts with partners as well as in situ workshops.
The courses offered in English for this program are of several types:
- courses given in English,
- international workshops
- new international courses and seminars where LOCI teachers and international partners co-teach in LOCI, remotely or at the partner institution.
The program is distributed among the following domains:
- master’s-level studios, the master’s thesis, “Questions of architecture” elective courses
- History, Theory and Human Sciences
- Urbanism and Territory
- Materialization of the project (Construction, Technology, Structure).
