The course will introduce Master's students to the foundations of European Information and Technology (IT) Law, by focusing on two sectors at the centre of the EU policy agenda: data protection and artificial intelligence. The Module is a tailor-made course, which integrates a “Legal Design” (LD) approach into teaching.

LD is an innovative and interdisciplinary field of research and didactics, based on active learning and problem-solving. Students will be called to collaboratively work on practical cases and to develop a project in the field of IT Law. The course is structured in 3 parts: 1) Introduction to Legal Design; 2) Key Areas in European IT Law (data protection and artificial intelligence); 3) Legal Design in Action.
