The objective of this course is to understand the main characteristics of viscoelastic materials and in particular, of polymer melts. Molecular pictures will be given in order to understanding which parameters govern the stress-strain relationship in polymeric materials, and what is the importance of the chain architecture. Mesoscopic modelling will be presented in order to model the rheological response of a polymer melt.
