This course offers a chronological overview of the history of European integration and consists of two parts. The first part, taught by Jan Willem Brouwer, will start roughly in the interbellum and will examine the origins of the project of European integration and its further developments until roughly 1985. The second part, taught by Wim Weymans, will focus on the period after 1985, and developments such as deepening integration, enlargement foreign policy and the recent crises.
