This course of the BOE-Master Program (Organismal Biology & Ecology - Biologie des organismes et écologie - UCLouvain & UNamur) deals with thermal and other (micro)climatic aspects of the ecology of organisms as key components of their life history strategies. There is a particular focus on survival and thermal performance of organisms and ecosystems under climate change. The course addresses relevant concepts of the field of thermal ecology (e.g. thermal performance curve analysis) and provides an overview of applied methods of observational and experimental approaches (e.g., tracking microclimatic variation, body temperatures in ecto- and endothermic organisms, etc.).
