EU internal market law

The first part of this course will focus on perhaps the most foundational aspect of EU integration: the establishment of an area without internal borders in which goods, persons, services and capital can move freely. We will examine how law has been used to build this internal market, through negative integration (by removing unjustified national barriers to free movement) and through positive integration (by harmonising divergent national rules).

We will move from the free movement of goods to the free movement of persons, services and capital, all along identifying the common traits and the distinctions between each of the four freedoms.
